Want to level-up your self-care sessions? These beauty-boosting aesthetic treatments might do the trick

For some it’s an hour of Ashtanga, a sensorial 12-step skincare ritual, or even a full-on beat with high-definition contouring and a vivid cut crease therapeutic. To others, it could be aesthetic treatments that relieve them of all that time and effort to look their best. Self-care comes in all shapes and forms—especially in 2020.

Everyone’s latest go-to? Beauty tweakments. Micro-enhancements that help to accentuate the glow-up results you worked on in lockdown; boost your skin’s natural regeneration processes; or maybe, just maybe, help to sculpt and lift all kinds of curves to make up for the times we over-indulged and ate our feelings in isolation. Plus, it’s the perfect time to try a new treatment, because most of them deliver results that peak after a month or two (sometimes three)—just in time for the holidays. And hopefully by then, gathering restrictions would have eased and you can flaunt your fresh looks in real life.

Profhilo, the 10-jab rejuvenator

What is it
Essentially, it’s injectable moisturiser—the first of its kind that administers 100 percent pure hyaluronic acid subcutaneously, which bio-stimulates elastin, collagen and hydration in the three main layers of skin. This in turn reduces visible signs of ageing (fine lines, wrinkles, dullness, sagginess), and nurtures firmer, perkier and overall fresher-looking skin from the inside out.

How does it work
Profhilo manages to hydrate and rejuvenate the skin because it contains two types of hyaluronic acid (aka moisture magnets): L-HA and H-HA. This stabilised, highly concentrated hybrid of hyaluronic acid releases slowly and evenly under the skin, fueling the stimulation of four different types of collagen and elastin that’s responsible for skin laxity, structure, and hydration that contributes to that ever-covetable glow. It also helps repair scars and blemishes over time. Swiftly becoming the go-to treatment for facial rejuvenation, Profhilo is said to contact five times more hyaluronic acid than the average skinbooster, and doesn’t contain the additives commonly found in traditional fillers.

What to expect
Profhilo is done over two sessions, four weeks apart, with little-to-no downtime as it may leave little mosquito bite-like bumps on skin for under a day. Each treatment involves just 10 jabs (five on each side) across the face, from the upper cheekbone to the jawline and chin—these are tiny, low-pain level injections with the help of numbing cream.. This can also be done across the neck or hands if those are your areas of concern.
